Jonji links up with Party Astronauts ahead of ESL Challenger League Season 40

Jonji to stand-in for Party Astronauts

Jonji has returned to CS:GO following his switch to VALORANT back in October.

Party Astronauts have announced Jonathan "Jonji" Carey as a stand-in for their upcoming events. The 22-year-old joins in place of Gage "Infinite" Green who departed the squad today to join Damian "daps" Steele's new Orgless project.

After failing to establish himself in VALORANT following a string of uninspiring results with BBG Academy, Jonji has returned to CS:GO while still under contract with Built By Gamers. During his time with the academy side, Jonji only played a handful of events before seemingly being sidelined in favor of Hasan "BlackHeart" Hammad in the starting lineup.

Prior to the decision to move to VALORANT, Jonji was a member of Bad News Bears for nine months. While with the squad, the rifler posted a strong 1.13 rating across 162 maps while also notably helping the Bears to first-place finishes at Fragadelphia 15 and ESEA Premier Season 36.

Prior to this, Jonji was a member of Chaos for seven months before the organization pulled the plug on its CS:GO division and later ceased operations.

With Jonji's addition, Party Astronauts are now:

  • Ben "ben1337" Smith

  • Josh "PwnAlone" Pigue

  • Jonathan "djay" Dallal

  • David "cynic" Polster

  • Jonathan "Jonji" Carey (Stand-in)

  • Joseph "Muenster" Lima (Coach)

Party Astronauts are set to participate in the inaugural season of ESL Challenger League commencing on January 18th as well as the upcoming ESEA x Fragadelphia Winter 2022 Cash Cup 2 which is scheduled to begin on Saturday.
