Gratisfaction will be seeking some satisfying results with Renegades in North America

Renegades get some Gratisfaction (and some liazz)

Renegades return to their roots from down under.

With Noah "Nifty" Francis now officially signed with Team Envy and the WESA roster deadline for ESL Pro League Season 8 looming, Renegades look to round out their roster for the upcoming season, having recently added Jay "liazz" Tregillgas and Sean "Gratisfaction" Kaiwai to their ESEA team page.

Roster changes for Renegades have been long-awaited, with the team undergoing a string of lackluster results, paired with another disappointing showing at the recent Major, where Renegades only won a single map map in the New Challengers Stage to Space Soldiers.

These changes were further alluded by the team's former coach Steve "Ryu" Rattacasa, who claimed that explaining his recent departure from the organization would "reveal things that are currently in process."

Both Gratisfaction and liazz have found success in the domestic Australian scene, with Grayhound and ORDER — the players' former teams, respectively — both standing as two of the best teams in the Asian-Pacific scene. Both players were also the highest rated on their respective teams prior to their departure for Renegades.

The addition of the New Zealander and Australian players would bring Renegades back to a fully-Oceanic roster, a feature which the team had previously adorned up until last year, when the organization signed the Serbian player Nemanja "nexa" Isaković.

With Renegades now likely to sport a fully Oceanic five-man roster, it is currently unknown what will become of Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad, who previously signed with the organization as a long-term stand-in back in February, as the player still remains on Renegades' ESEA roster.

Renegades' roster will likely be:

  • Australia Aaron "AZR" Ward
  • Australia Justin "jks" Savage
  • Australia Karlo "USTILO" Pivac
  • Australia Jay "liazz" Tregillgas
  • New Zealand Sean "Gratisfaction" Kaiwai

Renegades are currently set to play in the upcoming season of ESL Pro League, as well as the upcoming season of ECS. The team are also set to appear at IEM Chicago and StarSeries i-League Season 6, having been invited to both major events.

Oh the AUS scene back at it again with Renegades pinching from the best teams. Hopefully Order and Grayhound can still hold there own as I like both of those teams.
