Vireo.pro battle past Mythic; ownage own Hooked
We're back with a Fragadelphia 12 bracket update Dust2.us friends. After Swole Patrol qualified for the Grand Final last night, it left just the lower bracket waiting to be finished up.
The first game of the day saw the fourth round of the lower bracket complete, with Vireo.pro taking down Hysteria in three maps. Vireo.pro went down on Overpass, falling 16-14 in a close game. The comeback was near-instant on the next two maps, with a strong 16-8 win on Cache followed up by another strong 16-10 display on Mirage.
The next game up saw the first fifth round lower bracket games take place, with ownage edging out BlackOut over three maps. In a similar story, it was their opponents who took the first map, a 16-12 win on Nuke. After that it was very simple sailing for the eUnited/Dignitas mix, with a 16-6 win on Cache before a 16-3 demolition job on Train.
This is when the tournament gets slightly mixed up, as a sixth round game gets concluded before the other fifth round game. ownage were up next, where they took down Hooked in two maps. The first was a 16-10 win on Cache, a map where they didn't lose a single second half round, before a 16-7 win on Inferno sent them to the Lower Bracket Final.
Now we return to the fifth round for Vireo.pro's game against Mythic. It is worth noting that Mythic used Roy "Strong Legs" Ahad in place of Alexander "LeX" Deily, due to the latter also competing in the Battalion 1944 competition that clashed with the first map. This did not do the stream team any favors, as Vireo.pro secured a dominant first half on Train, before only narrowly taking the final round for a 16-14 win. Nuke saw LeX return to the team, but this effectively saw a repeat of the first map. A strong first half from Vireo.pro was then followed by them being forced to defend it from Mythic for a 16-14 win.
