Swole Patrol overpower Splyce to keep StarSeries hopes alive
The final match of the StarSeries i-League Season 5 North America Qualifier group stage saw the EPL squad of Splyce taking on Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir and Swole Patrol.
On Mirage, it seemed like both teams were in for an early night, as Taylor "Drone" Johnson laid waste to Swole Patrol as Splyce cruised to a near-flawless 16-1 victory.
Cache was a different story though, as Drone cooled off and Zachary "XotiC" Elshani took on the heavy lifting for his squad. Unfortunately for Splyce, Swole Patrol put in better performances across the board, especially Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro, en route to evening up the series 1-1.
The decider map was set to be played on Nuke, and Splyce looked poised to close out the series after their Terrorist side secured thirteen rounds against the muscle men. Miraculously, Swole Patrol were able to mirror this performance on their own T-side to force overtime, which they eventually claimed.
Both teams had two players drop 30 kills across the map, with the aforementioned Drone and XotiC duo working for Splyce, and Zellsis and Ryan "ryan" Welsh helping drag Swole Patrol over the line.

The qualifier action will resume tomorrow, with two quarterfinal matches pitting teams from the group stage against higher seeded sides. StarLadder have not yet revealed which four teams have been directly invited to this stage of the tournament, but we will all find out soon enough.
