RONIN release REZU

Not wanting to become a backup, the American gets released by the organization.

Jeff "REZU" Ngo has been released from his contract with RONIN, Dust2.us has learned. This is due to the player being moved to a role on the bench after ESEA MDL playoffs concluded, with him not wanting to take a backup position.

The team have recently finished their MDL Playoff run, finishing 5th-8th after losing 2-0 to eventual qualifying team eUnited in the first round. Their run in the Gfinity CEVO Winter Series also ended in the first round after a 2-1 loss to Impact, who compete in ESEA Main, in the first round of the lower bracket.

This leaves the team looking for two players after Stephen "reltuC" Cutler left to join Splyce in the ESL Pro League, with coach Kyle "flowsicK" Mendez taking a stand-in role after he left. However Dust2.us has learned that they are currently scrimming with potential replacements.

This move leaves the team as follows:

  • David "Xp3" Garrido
  • United States Dylan "RIKO" Sabin-Arnce
  • United States Collin "wrath" McSweegan
  • United States Kyle "flowsicK" Mendez (Coach)

More clarity on the roster is expected in the coming days.
