Dignitas lost to CLG in Copenhagen

EMUHLEET: "Squared has a lot of passion"

We had a chance to catch up with GooseBreeder and EMUHLEET after their quarterfinal victory at Copenhagen Games.

Our very own Michael "Duck" Moriarty caught up with Dignitas fe's Emmalee "EMUHLEET" Garrido and Mounira "GooseBreeder" Dobie to get their thoughts on Copenhagen Games, their team's performance, and potential competition in the future.

You're through to the quarterfinals of the Copenhagen Games female tournament after group stage games and a simple-ish game against TSV. What are your thoughts on your team's performance so far?

EMUHLEET: I think the team is performing well. We were very well prepared, and we're just taking one team at a time, we're not really looking to much in the future. So I think that's one of the best things about our team is that we just study the one team we're about to play and just worry about that one thing so there's no other worries on our minds.

Your next game is against North American rivals of CLG Red. Obviously you're from the same region so you've played against each other a fair amount. Are you prepared for tomorrow's game?

GooseBreeder: I feel like we'll be pretty prepared. We'll go back and talk a little bit like Em said. I think we're pretty confident and we're looking pretty good like Em was saying. We have a pretty deep map pool, so I think they'll have a tough time against us.

You're coming off the back of a win at the Intel Challenge Katowice, two of the Canadian players did fairly well at WESG, so many expect you to be one of the favorites to secure the win here this weekend. Does that add any pressure to you, or just another level of competition?

GooseBreeder: It doesn't really add pressure for me, but everybody's different. I'm really confident, especially right now. I believe a lot in myself and my team. So, it doesn't really add any pressure, like Em said we just take it one game at a time. We focus on the small things instead of worrying about things that we just don't need to worry about.

So you're playing against a lot of teams who you might not have played against offline before. What are your thoughts on some of the teams so far, including those you've played against?

EMUHLEET: I think tournaments like this are great, it allows a lot of up and coming secret players I think to kind of shine. So, it's good to see those shining through in this event. I think my team is just far more prepared than the team's we've played against so far.

GooseBreeder: I think there's a lot of potential. We were here and we started like a lot of these teams and look where we are now. I think it's a great tournament, a lot of teams here have potential, but like Em said I think we're a lot more prepared than any to most of these teams here because of how long we've been together and how long we've been practicing. We have that advantage.

The core of your team has been together for four years - you have the experience over many other teams. Does that build into your confidence?

EMUHLEET: Yea, we just have that chemistry because we've been together for so long. I know that my teammate's always going to have my back. For a lot of the teams here, it's their first time here. We were talking to some of them and telling them "We hope you guys come back," because thay's how you get experience and that's how you get better.

Outside of yourselves, who do you think are the next biggest threat to the title in this competition?

GooseBreeder: I mean, RES would be the obvious choice, since we just dethroned them, but they were doing well for a while.

EMUHLEET: I think Squared has a lot of passion. I can see it in their faces when they're playing. They're very passionate about wanting to win. I think they're gonna be a tough opponent for everyone.
