ex-Recon 5 takes shape with jet-, DARYL, nguyen, Delta9, VulcaN
ex-Recon 5 have assembled their roster for ESEA Premier Season 36, with Jet "jet-" Gao and Daryl "DARYL" Wang returning to the team, while Anhduy "nguyen" Nguyen, David "Delta9" Shafer, and Andrew "VulcaN" Dominguez have joined to fill out the team's ranks.
This completes the team’s preparations for Season 36 after being invited to fill the gap left by Kinship disbanding, despite not having a lineup at the time.
DARYL makes his returns to Premier after playing his first ever season on ESEA, with Season 35 being expectedly rough for the newcomer as he ended the season with a 0.89 rating over six maps.
nguyen returns to being a player after spending the last few years coaching, having previously worked with Under 21 and Keep the Comms Up in Season 33 and Season 34, respectively. Playing a full season of Premier will be a big step up for nguyen as he has only reached playoffs in Intermediate while also having a handful of Advanced seasons under his belt. Hopefully he will be able to synergize with jet- and DARYL as the trio have LAN experience together, finishing 7th-8th place at Fragadelphia 14.
Outside of jet-, Delta9 is the most experienced player on the new lineup, with two MDL seasons under his belt from 2018 – Season 27 and Season 29. He recently made playoffs during Season 35 with Counter Nature, exiting the bracket after losses to Yeah and Rise. During playoffs, Delta9 had a 0.82 rating over four maps.
The final member of the lineup, VulcaN, is the sole player without any Premier/MDL experience. He has played the last five seasons of Advanced making playoffs on one occasion with Kinship Black during Season 33, dropping out after a win over Savage and losses to ETHEREAL and RBG.
