What's the opinion on bringing in loads of players from around the world?
Many danes has been brought in. No one really have managed to make a difference.
But it is not only Danes.

Isn't there enough talent? Is it raising the level?

I think NA will always be capped by the number of quality tacticians it has. Unless you bring in someone like s1mple, the team won't find international success unless there's someone on the team who can put all the pieces together.

Yeah I agree with that. North America has definitely been lacking in quality IGLs, which won't get them past some of the best teams even if they have super-star fraggers.

Once we can manage to get some more people from the lower tiers even to take over IGLing and develop enough, hopefully the scene can always be a top competitor for top 5 in the world. Of course there would be more than just getting a good leader, but getting an experienced guy in that can keep a team together would help drastically.

The foreign talent brought into NA isn't top tier though. That's why it's not "raising the level". They brought in Anj and NRG still have little to no success other than an online win vs c9/liquid/SK every now and then. NA needs to try and bring in rising stars, top players etc. Getting players like devoduvek or Amanek(they're good but not good enough to be winning matches vs top10 teams in bo3 (and no that navi game doesn't count)) won't cut it.

To be fair, Anj had promising stats in his matches against European opponents. I also think he mentioned that he had to adjust to playing in NA, and it looks like he did that successfully. Also important to mention that Cerq was a notable "rising star" before NRG brought him over to the states. (There was even an article about him.) I believe the shortcomings of NRG is less about skill and more about tactics and playing well together.

But to do what you want to do, bring in rising stars before they fully flourish, would cost a lot of money and is very risky if they end up not meeting expectations.

Of course. I'm not saying that the players NA has brought in haven't done anything, just for there to he any notable improvement such as a third team contending for deep runs and tournaments wins isn't going to happen soon. C9 is probably the best team right now and Liquid is right behind them but every other team shows no sign of being able to get out of groups at any premier tournament.

I haven't really been watching that many nrg games but from what I have seen it's always either Brehze having a fantastic game and everyone else underperforming massively or everyone playing at a decent level. Either way this is not how a team should function.

Pimp, acilion and AnJ was doing very well before coming to US.
I wonder why the first two never really made a breakthrough and why AnJ is struggling now.

Well to be honest they came from tier3 EU teams. Pimp was in SK but they were slowly getting worse and worse. They aren't playing too badly considering that plus they most likely aren't playing the roles/positions they prefer.
