Stewie2K returned to form just when Cloud9 needed it

Cloud9 take down Renegades in Katowice

The result sees the Australians leave the competition, and the Americans keep their tournament hopes alive.

Cache began with Cloud9 taking the pistol round on their CT-side, followed up with the two anti-ecos and first full buy. In fact, all of the first seven rounds went the way of the Americans, with Tarik "tarik" Celik leading the charge for his team with numerous multi-kill rounds, including an ace.

When Renegades finally got onto the board, it took four kills from Justin "jks" Savage on a forcebuy to push them over the line. Although they secured the round immediately following, Cloud9 returned back on top. The American side secured all but one of the remaining rounds of the half. With Cloud9 seeing Will "RUSH" Wierzba taking a key role on a number of rounds, they went 12-3 ahead at the break.

The second half began with Renegades' CT-side taking the pistol round and anti-ecos, but Cloud9 came out on the first full buy to put them back ahead. From there the Americans placed themselves on map point, with Jake "Stewie2K" Yip taking three kills to shore up their position.

Renegades did secure the next two rounds to prevent Cloud9 from securing the win too quickly, but that wouldn't last long. A swift site take saw the Americans claim Cache 16-8.

Inferno began with Cloud9 securing the pistol round on the T-side, but jks picked up three kills with his CZ to instantly return fire. From there the Australians crafted a small lead. But as soon as Cloud9 developed an economy they returned fire, taking round after round to wrestle the lead from the Australian side.

Noah "Nifty" Francis secured three kills to start Renegades off on a run that'd even the scores. With Karlo "USTILO" Pivac and Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad both taking three kills in multiple rounds, they were on the road to being narrowly ahead at the half, 8-7.

The second half was the Renegades show. After their T-side secured the pistol round and anti-ecos, they pushed on to take all but one of the remaining rounds to secure victory. With jkaem on fire for his team, they secured Inferno to even the scores with a 16-8 win.

Train was left as the decider, and Cloud9 opened it up on their CT-side with the pistol and anti-eco rounds. Stewie2K started his team's winning run at the top of the table, seeing the Americans take seven rounds with any sort of response.

When Renegades finally answered back, it was jks to collect three kills. But Cloud9 instantly stopped them with Stewie2K taking four kills on a forcebuy. From there Cloud9 only dropped one more round in the remainder of the half, completely dominating Renegades for a 13-2 lead.

The second half saw Renegades take the pistol round off the back of a smoke defuse before Cloud9 won an eco thanks to tarik taking three. From there Cloud9 instantly took the game to match point before Renegades secured their fourth round.

From there Renegades collected a couple more rounds, but not before Cloud9 finally closed the map out with a 16-6 win to keep their tournament hopes alive.
