Valve founder Gabe Newell buys $70 million 20,000 square-foot mansion in Florida

Valve's main man continues to spend big on luxuries.

According to a report by E.B. Solomont of the Wall Street Journal, Valve founder Gabe Newell has reportedly continued his luxury purchasing spree with the purchase of a $70.8m waterfront mansion in the luxury township of Manalapan, Florida.

The property reportedly features 16,000 square feet of living space, a ten-car garage, 150 feet of beach-front access, and a 210-bottle wine room among countless other luxuries. The Florida mansion is Newell's second big-ticket purchase in recent months as he recently purchased a $500 million "superyacht" back in November 2025.

According to the Seattle Times, Newell remains tied to the Seattle area, however he has lived full-time at sea since 2021. With Florida boasting far warmer waters than the Pacific Northwest, Manalapan is likely a much more attractive city for Newell as he is a well-known scuba diver.
