CS Asia Championships 2026 Day Two Recap: All NA teams eliminated early again
After the disaster that was IEM Atlanta, the CS Asia Championships provided another opportunity for NA's top three teams to show better form. While day one saw all teams knocked to the lower bracket after some competitive maps, day two with tough draws and another stand-in eliminated all three from the event without entering the conversation for playoffs.
As all the matches took place while most NA fans were asleep, we've got another recap of last night's play.

NRG 1-2
MOUZ
Due to a family emergency, coach Damian "daps" Steele had to stand in for Alexander "br0" Bro. Despite that, NRG were able to win their pick of Ancient in a close 13-10 match due to strong performances from Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek and Michael "Grim" Wince. However, MOUZ's firepower proved to be too much for them to overcome as MOUZ dominated Nuke 13-6 and took Mirage 13-9, eliminating NRG.

3DMAX 1-2
Liquid
NA's only victory of the night came in Liquid's lower-bracket match against 3DMAX. With Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa back in the server, he was able to provide some much-needed support to help Liquid narrowly avoid choking an 8-2 lead on Nuke. After winning Nuke 13-11, Liquid struggled in clutches on Dust2, going 0-5 in them to allow 3DMAX to tie the series. Inferno was another close map, but again Liquid avoided choking a 12-6 lead and closed it just in time at 13-11. The win gave them some much-needed VRS points, shooting them up thirteen spots to #36.

M80 1-2
MOUZ
MOUZ had it out for us today. After falling in a tight 0-2 to Falcons, M80 drew another top ten team for their elimination match. M80 got utterly dominated on their Overpass pick as Dorian "xertioN" Berman and Adrian "xelex" Vincze had a combined K/D of 42/14. On MOUZ's pick of Inferno, Mason "Lake" Sanderson helped power M80 to a stellar CT-side. Despite nearly fumbling a 12-4 lead, M80 eventually closed the map 13-10. Unfortunately, Mirage was even more one-sided than Overpass as MOUZ smashed M80 13-2, eliminating them.

The MongolZ 2-1
Liquid
Like NRG, Liquid faced a tough opponent in their next lower bracket match. After a 3-9 start, Liquid managed to come all the way back on Mirage to secure their pick 13-11 due to great performances from several members of the team. Inferno was a far less competitive affair as Liquid couldn't win consecutive rounds until round 18. After the MongolZ took Inferno 13-7, Nuke was much more back and forth. Liquid trailed 4-8 at the half, took a narrow 9-8 lead, then let it go to lose 13-9, sending them home.

While all teams are out of the event quickly, like in Atlanta, there is a little more to be hopeful about here. Outside of bo1 losses to Legacy and PARIVISION, two teams with solid results this year, NA teams only lost to teams in the top six by VRS, many in close series. Obviously, we want NA to be among the best, and the finishes are uninspiring by placement, but the matches showed just a little to look forward to. With all three starting in Stage One of the IEM Cologne Major, maybe it's finally time for some wins.
