Astralis CEO claims org turned a profit in 2025
In an interview on a podcast with Ludvig Larsen, Astralis CEO Jonas Gundersen has stated that Astralis turned a profit in 2025 after Fusion Esports Group's acquisition of the organization in the middle of the year.
In 2024, Astralis reported a loss of $4.8 million, making the turnaround under Fusion Esports that much more impressive.
Fusion Esports Group raised the money to purchase Astralis in just four days, turning prior commitments to sales pledges in less than a week.
Gundersen likened esports to a media market, saying, "Fundamentally, it’s still very much sponsorship driven, which is one of the things that is uncomfortably difficult about the model, because sponsorships are hard to scale." By focusing on the org's media reach, Astralis has moved into the positives, according to Gundersen.
Since the beginning of 2026, Astralis have improved in the server, as well. The traditionally Danish team transitioned to an international roster at the beginning of the year. They started 2026 at 17th in the global VRS standings, climbing as high as 3rd at the beginning of April. They currently sit at 7th, ahead of teams like FURIA, G2, and PARIVISION.
