OG outclasses NRG, sends NA hopefuls to fifth round of Stage One
OG has been feasting on North American rosters in Stage One of the BLAST.tv Austin Major, and have booked their spot in Stage One at the expense of NRG, who will have one last crack at moving on.
The primarily Danish roster were never out of control of the series. On Mirage, they jumped to a 7-1 lead on their CT side and led 9-3 at half-time. Jadan "HexT" Postma attempted to spark a second half comeback with a strong performance, but OG bullied their way to a 13-7 win on map one.
After losing their map pick, a deflated NRG got rolled on Nuke. NRG claimed the pistol round to start their CT side but immediately got reset in round two, leading to another 9-3 half-time lead for OG. There was no second half comeback attempt this map, as OG won all four of their CT-side rounds to close out Nuke quickly, 13-3.
NRG's first taste of best-of-three action did not go their way, and they'll have to find a way to win on Friday in the 2-2 pool. While it's not confirmed yet, HLTV's Major simulator indicates that NRG will most likely play Legacy, or potentially Lynn Vision if they advance past Chinggis Warriors.
