IEM Dallas 2024 to use latest patch with new Vertigo

New vertigo, new mollies, new chickens.

ESL announced last night that IEM Dallas 2024 will be using the latest version of CS2 for the upcoming event. The newest patch includes several changes to the economy, changes on Vertigo's A site, and characteristics of CT incendiaries.

The organizer stated that this updated patch "should have fixed the game crash bug that has plagued matches all year" which one of the reasons they are adopting it so quickly. In cases where massive gameplay changes are implemented in the days leading up to an event, ESL has had to make the tough decision to either quickly adopt and risk live-game failures, or to use the stable old version.

IEM Dallas 2024 will be one of the first LANs to use not just this updated version but will also include the previous update, which saw Overpass removed from the competitive map pool and Dust2 brought in. This change occurred during ESL Pro League Season 19, which ESL declined to implement as the tournament was already underway.

Teams headed to Texas will likely not have much time to adopt to the changes made on Thursday due to tournament obligations and travel. Complexity and M80, on the virtue of being the only teams that barely have to travel to the upcoming event, will likely have more practice time on the newest patch, which will give them an advantage over the traveling Europeans.

IEM Dallas kicks off this Monday with Liquid playing Complexity and M80 duking it out with FaZe.
