ImPerium dispatch Addice to secure final ESEA MDL Season 34 Relegation spot
ImPerium were able to successfully bounce back from their 2-0 series loss against Kinship earlier today in the second IEM New York qualifier by putting together a sweep of their own against Addice. As such, they will be playing in ESEA MDL Season 34 Relegation as the #7 seed from ESEA Advanced Season 34.
ImPerium got the series started with a strong CT-side on Train, jumping out to an early 11-4 lead. They then managed to extend that lead to 14-5 before Addice started stringing rounds together, pulling the scoreline back to 14-10. But ImPerium were able to halt the comeback in round 25, grabbing match point and immediately converting it to a map one victory. Reece "Wilky" Wilkerson was the top fragger across both teams in the opener with 23 kills, while David "Delta9" Shafer put up 20 frags in the loss for Addice.
Ali "phantom" Sachs was a cut above everyone else on the server on Overpass, but his massive 29-kill performance wasn't enough to offset a modest performance from the rest of the Addice roster. The map was close all the way through, as ImPerium's slim 8-7 halftime lead was ever so briefly extended to 13-7 before Addice came roaring back and the lead completely evaporated to another slim advantage for ImPerium, 14-13. That was as far as the comeback was destined to go as ImPerium snagged match point in round 28 and immediately converted once again, taking the map, the series, and the spot in ESEA MDL Season 34 Relegation.
