eFire announce Master League Season 2

The Vietnamese organizer will be hosting their second $10,000 North American event.

eFire have announced a second season of their North American Master League, which will again feature a $10,000 prize pool.

This season will feature the top four teams from the previous iteration of the event, along with four additional teams coming from an eight-team qualifier.

The teams invited to the closed qualifier were:

United States Big Chillin United States ETHEREAL
Infinity United States Faint
Canada RBG United States Serac
United States Trivium United States Monstars

The closed qualifier began yesterday after the announcement of the event, and immediately saw Monstars withdraw. As a result, their slated opponent, ETHEREAL, got a free pass to the main event.

RBG against Serac, on the other hand, actually happened, and the Canadian side emerged with a 2-0 victory. It wasn't easy on Vertigo, however, as RBG needed overtime to take their opponent's map pick, largely thanks to 29 kills from Cameron "Cam^" Stewart on the Serac side.

Inferno was much more straightforward for RBG, a 16-5 stomping that was spearheaded by the 24 kill performance of Josh "pwny" VanGorder. Every single member of RBG had as many, or more, kills than Serac's top fragger on the map.

The closed qualifier will conclude with two best-of-three series tonight:

Infinity vs. United States Big Chillin 8PM EDT
United States Trivium vs. United States Faint 10PM EDT

The participant list for eFire Master League Season 2 is currently:

Brazil Yeah United States AA
United States Thunder Logic United States Keep The Comms Up
United States ETHEREAL Canada RBG
World Infinity/Big Chillin United States Trivium/Faint

The entire event will be broadcasted on the eFire Twitch account.
