MAC-1 has swapped teams ahead of the start of the MDL season

MAC-1 jumps from Rugratz to Rap Gang

The 19-year-old will look to try his hand as the coach of a different MDL roster.

Jared "MAC-1" Schneider has announced that he will no longer be coaching Rugratz for the upcoming season, and instead hopping on board with Rap Gang in place of Anhduy "nguyen" Nguyen.

MAC-1 spent ESEA Season 32 playing under the Gorilla Gang banner in Advanced, with the team's season ending after going 2-2 in playoffs. It wasn't long before MAC-1 announced that he would return to coaching, a role he had previously occupied as a part of Singularity throughout much of 2019.

Rugratz were able to finish MDL Season 32 in fourth place, earning themselves a spot at the Global Challenge but leaving them out of contention for a spot in ESL Pro League Season 10 Relegation. Rap Gang, meanwhile, missed out on playoffs as a result of finishing the regular season with a 4-11 record, which they will now look to improve upon heading into Season 33.

Rap Gang now have:

  • Canada Justin "FaNg" Coakley
  • United States Erick "Xeppaa" Bach
  • United States Brendan "Bwills" Williams
  • United States Josh "shinobi" Abastado
  • United States Jeff "RZU" Ngo
  • United States Jared "MAC-1" Schneider (Coach)

As for Rugratz, a tweet from Alexander "zander" Diaz points to a potential reunion with current ANEW coach Nathan "madcow" Retterath.

MDL Season 33 is set to get underway in the second week of January. Both Rap Gang and Rugratz will have the opportunity to showcase their lineups earlier than that however, as they will compete in the fifth edition of the Mythic Cup from January 4-5.
