NEO will look to fill the shoes of RobbaN

Report: NEO to step in as FaZe coach

The Pole will be the team's coach for IEM Cologne.

FaZe have officially registered Filip "NEO" Kubski as their coach for the upcoming IEM Cologne at the end of the month Dust2.us understands. The follows Robert "RobbaN" Dahlström's announcement yesterday that he would be retiring from coaching, ending his seven-year stint with FaZe.

The news come after the legendary Pole last saw action in mid-2022 on HONORIS, a now-defunct project helmed by him and Golden Five teammate Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas. Since then, he has been inactive outside of a showmatch, ironically, against FaZe.

Dust2.us cannot confirm whether the addition of NEO will be permanent or is a short-notice addition for Cologne after RobbaN's departure, however, one source did say that the team plans to work with NEO for longer. NEO previously trialed for FaZe as a replacement for Finn "karrigan" Andersen back in 2019, attending the StarLadder Berlin Major 2019 with the squad.

As one of the most storied individuals in Counter-Strike history, NEO is one of a few players to carry a greater pedigree than RobbaN. Although this will be his first time coaching, NEO's unheard of 23 years of experience will make him no stranger during IEM Cologne 2023.

With the addition, FaZe's roster for IEM Cologne is:

  • Håvard "rain" Nygaard

  • Helvijs "broky" Saukants

  • Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken

  • Finn "karrigan" Andersen

  • Robin "ropz" Kool

  • Filip "NEO" Kubski (Coach)
