CS:GO pins may return for Paris, according to leak

Not seen since 2019, physical pins might be making a comeback.

Twitter user and prolific dataminer, Aquarius, revealed last night that there might be a new collection of in-game pins coming soon to CS:GO. For the uninitiated, CS:GO pins were wildly popular throughout CS:GO Majors and some were last physically seen during the 2019 StarLadder Berlin Major. The last set of new pins were released in 2017, making this an almost six year gap between sets.

Now, the dataminer alleges that these pins should be available for sale on May 1st, however this is subject to change and might be done in coordination with the upcoming BLAST.tv Paris Major stickers and signatures. Interestingly, according to the leak, it might be possible to buy them in-person as there is a validation code reference within the file.

In response to the leak, another dataminer by the name of "ale" revealed that there were eleven pin images found in a now-deleted CS2 list which went by the file name "items_game.txt". The images show pins of the maps Vertigo, Ancient, Dust II 2, and Anubis.

Counter-Strike 2 was announced by Valve on March 22 with a beta launching later that night. There have been two showmatches for the game held at ESL Pro League 17 and IEM Rio. The full version of the game is expected to be released later this summer.
