The AWPer and in-game leader may be returning to a fully North American lineup

Report: Nifty envies a return to a North American roster

The AWPer and in-game leader may be coming home.

According to a report from DBLTAP's Jarek "DeKay" Lewis, Noah "Nifty" Francis is being considered as the fifth player to round out EnVyUs' potential North American roster. This would be the first change to the Renegades roster following their exit from the FACEIT Major, with possibly more to come as alluded to yesterday by the team's former coach Steve "Ryu" Rattacasa.

The change for Nifty would follow a lackluster showing once again for Renegades in the New Challengers stage of the FACEIT Major, where the team finished in 12-14th with a 1-3 record. Their only win saw them narrowly defeat Space Soldiers, who were attending the Major with their coach Canpolat "hardstyle" Yıldıran, in overtime.

Renegades have been unable to find any impressive results in recent months, going out in the group stage in the majority of their recent events. Their last notable win came almost a year ago at StarLadder's i-League Invitational, where they took down a lackluster-looking Virtus.pro 2-0 in the grand finals.

More changes are expected to follow as the Renegades roster will now have to rebuild without their in-game leader. According to another report by DeKay, Renegades will be looking to import new Oceanic talent to round out their roster for the upcoming season of Pro League.

As the WESA transfer window is currently set to close on September 27th, an announcement from EnVyUs is to be expected soon if they are to acquire the lineup and ESL Pro League slot.

With the addition of Nifty, EnVyUs' reported lineup looks to be as follows:

  • United States Taylor "Drone" Johnson
  • Canada Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen
  • United States Stephen "reltuC" Cutler
  • United States Josh "jdm64" Marzano
  • United States Noah "Nifty" Francis
  • United States Zachary "Eley" Stauffer (Coach)

The above roster are set to compete in EPL Season 8, which will begin on October 2nd. Their first match will see them take on Liquid on October 5th, with the double-header set to kick off at 6:10 PM EDT.
