Prospects have finalized their roster for relegation

New Prospects set to close out the season as vberg and hero step down

Only one of the original Prospects remain as the team faces relegation.

As we previously reported here on a few days ago, Josh "JoshRT" Lee's Prospects had been filling up the team's bench pending expected changes to their roster towards the end of the season, with relegation on the cards for the squad.

Those changes have now come to fruition as Brian "vberg" Rank and Craigh "hero" HoSui have stepped down from the team. When contacted by, vberg mentioned that he chose to retire because he finds it "more fun to play Dota than CS," although he is willing to stay on as a backup player or coach for important games. hero stepped down due to getting a girlfriend, and presumably not having as much time to practice or compete as before.

The team's replacements for their remaining match in S28 of MDL league and for relegation comes in the forms of  Mike "real_bM" Desanto and Nassir "rugrat" Francique, who had joined the team a week ago in preparation for the move.

This makes JoshRT the sole remaining member of the Prospects roster that qualified for Season 28 of MDL by winning S27 of Intermediate, although he has reunited with Blake "Strings" Stringer with whom he played on Bushido Boyz with in Season 26.

With these changes, Prospects' roster for the remainder of MDL and upcoming qualifiers is set to be:

  • United States Josh "JoshRT" Lee
  • United States Blake "Strings" Stringer
  • United States Brendan"bwills" Williams
  • United States Mike "real_bM" Desanto
  • Canada Nassir "rugrat" Francique

Prospects have one match remaining in S28 of MDL, where they're set to take on subtLe on Mirage. The result of the match will have little consequence for the team as they're guaranteed to play in relegation, where they'll look to hold their spot in the league for next season.
