JBa, M80 defeat Iowa Stormboar to earn berth in ECL NA grand final
M80 v. Iowa Stormboar was the first matchup in the ESL Challenger League NA Finals. In the first semifinal, M80 took down Iowa Stormboar in 2-0 fashion, but not without a fight from the latter on the second map.
Josh "JBa" Barutt and Fritz "slaxz-" Dietrich were the main men for M80 in the series, as the duo topped the scoreboard for M80 in the sweep.
The series started with Stormboar's Ancient pick, but it was M80 who took a 7-0 lead and never looked back. M80 held a 10-2 advantage at halftime, converting it to a 13-5 win on their opponents' map. Mason "Lake" Sanderson couldn't be contained on the first map, leading all players with 19 frags overall, 17 of which came in the first half.
Iowa Stormboar looked much better on M80's choice of Mirage, as they were able to gain a 7-5 edge at the half. After the intermission, M80 steadily fought back, never allowing Stormboar to put multiple rounds together in the second half. JBa led the way with thirteen frags on the second side as M80 edged out the win 13-11.
