ESEA Advanced Season 57 reaches playoffs with Wanted Goons claiming top seed

ESEA Advanced Season 57 has reached playoffs, with 24 teams set to compete in the double-elimination bracket for one of four spots in the ESEA Season 57 Finals. Season 57 is the second season to feature the new Finals format, which will see four Advanced teams joined by twelve teams from the lower divisions to compete in a $33,500 and Valve Regional Standings points up for grabs.

The majority of teams in playoffs this time around aren't ranked on the VRS, meaning a top-four finish in playoffs is a priority if they want to claim a spot in ESL Challenger League and other NA events next season.

The top seed this season was claimed by Wanted Goons, who ended the season with a 13-1 record as their sole loss came against LAG at the tail-end of the season. Right behind Wanted Goons are Club 333 and Chicken Coop, who both posted 12-2 records in the regular season, while LAG rounds out the top four with an 11-3 record.

Other notable teams set to appear in playoffs include Villainous (formerly team mouse), Third Prime, EMPIRE, F5, FlyQuest RED, Iowa Stormboar, and Beyond Limits.

Meanwhile, some notable teams to miss out on playoffs include Shimmer (8-6) Celestial (8-6) while girl kissers and NYX have been demoted down to ESEA Main after 3-11 seasons.

ESEA Advanced Season 57 playoffs are set to start on June 1st.
