Liquid on the verge of losing EWC invite to Wildcard

Liquid have all but missed out on a regional EWC invite, as pointed out by Jesper "Udknud" Larsen. Evidently, Wildcard’s ongoing performance at BC Game Masters Championship Season 2 has made them the favorites to receive an Americas invite alongside M80.

HLTV’s predictive rankings also put Wildcard, who are currently guaranteed a Top 4 finish at BC Game Masters, ahead of Liquid in the race. The latter will likely be consigned to EWC’s Open Qualifiers.

According to Udknud, Liquid were just “1 more tier 1 match in CAC or Atlanta” win away from securing their spot in Paris. As members of the EWC partner program, Liquid would surely regret their potential absence.

This latest shortcoming continues a pattern for the team, who just narrowly qualified for the IEM Cologne Major. Their highest placement of the year was a lone Top 4 finish at Roman Imperium Cup VI, where an almost equally as inconsistent NIP took first place.
