The loss to G2 is hopefully just a speedbump for Complexity

T.c: "We're ok with being 1-1"

Complexity's coach didn't mince words about the difficult and unlikely task of beating G2.

After starting off day one of the BLAST.tv Paris Major with a strong 16-11 win over GamerLegion, Complexity dropped their second match against G2 in a relaitvley one-sided 16-9 loss on Inferno.

Following this loss, Ryan Friend spoke to Complexity's coach, Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen, to gauge his feelings on how day one went, with the South African saying overall that he was fairly happy with COL's performance today.

Please note that the full interview can be found below on YouTube, while the transcript has some key snippets from their conversation.

If you knew you were going to end the day 1-1, how would you feel heading into the day?

We're ok with being 1-1, G2 was always going to be a tough game. Coming into the tournament with a pretty low seed made us expect a tough matchup in the 1-0 pool. It's nice having that tough matchup out of the way. We could've played better, losing both pistols never helps and not being able to get a round back on any of the force buys. We had a slow start on both halves which didn't help our case but G2 is still a really good team and was always going to be a tough opponent.

What happened in the CT-side against G2?

Even for our T-side, we can't really call that a success when we started down 7-2. After the pause we won six rounds pretty much straight, but a successful T-side on Inferno for us is when we can get at least eleven or twelve rounds but unfortunately if you're losing the pistol it's hard to do that.

On CT-side, we lost the pistol and then were pretty slow. m0nesy had a really good game and made our lives really difficult. We were slow on the rotates and just picking up on what they were doing. It's something for us to go back and look at before tomorrow.

What kind of opponent are you looking to face tomorrow? do you want to get a tough opponent in the BO1 or hope to save those for the BO3s?

I don't mind honestly. Anyone here have beaten really good teams so honestly we gotta sit and wait for what happens. There's no point in hoping, hope is a crappy strategy.

How does it feel to be in Paris, a fairly special venue, for CS:GO's last Major?

It's pretty good to be back in Paris. For me especially I was here in 2010, 2014, and 2016 for ESWC and we just never came back. For me it's very nice and special as it's where I started off my CS career with a South African team. One of the only qualifiers we had was for ESWC. It's nice to end CS:GO from where it all started for me.
