SPUNJ on CS2: Skyboxes are gone, apparently

A playtester of the private beta, SPUNJ shared an interesting tidbit on stream.

In the post-match interview Chad "SPUNJ" Burchill, Freya Spiers, and Anastasija "Heccu" Tolmačeva were speaking with Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken and Finn "karrigan" Andersen from FaZe about the announcement of Counter-Strike 2 and what should they expect in the game.

For karrigan, he said multiple times that the biggest change that he has seen and expects is the smokes, which are now dynamic in nature and will react to grenades and gunfire.

In response, SPUNJ let karrigan know that there were no more skyboxes, so that utility could no longer be bounced off the invisible ceiling, rending some lineups on maps completely useless

There are no skyboxes, so you can't do any utility bounced off of skyboxes anymore.

Twistzz, in response clarified asking if it was real. "Skyboxes are gone"

To which SPUNJ tried to caution and reply that they were gone, "apparently".

karrigan thought that it might be a good change as it would open up the game, but still, the biggest change is the smoke change and that this was a good change to "spice it up"

Things can obviously change from when SPUNJ and others playtested the game, so we will not know 100% if the skyboxes are gone until the public beta is released soon and the full game is released later this summer.
