EG find replacement AWPer

Evil Geniuses announced this afternoon that Jerric "wiz" Jiang, one of three EG Blueprint players listed as substitutes on the BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 EG roster, would be the starting AWPer for the squad, becoming the second Blueprint player to join the main roster.

The news of wiz's promotion comes in the wake of the departure of Tsvetelin "⁠CeRq⁠" Dimitrov who leaves after three years with Evil Geniuses and two years of the NRG roster that was later acquired by the Seattle-based organization.

Evil Geniuses have completed an essential revamp of their prior CS:GO roster, leaving Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte and Timothy "autimatic" Ta as the two remaining players from the first 2022 iteration.

This will be wiz's first international LAN in his career. The 21-year-old AWPer has been seen as the next up-and-coming AWPer in the region due to his impressive performances in ESL Challenger League, where he posted a 1.15 Rating, 1.03 Impact, and 75.0% KAST across 24 maps. EG Black would go on to the finals where they eventually lost 1-3 to MIBR.

With wiz being promoted to the main roster, EG Black are in the hunt for a replacement AWPer. As Dust2.us reported earlier this week, the squad were seen playing with Paytyn "junior" Johnson during the fl0m Cup presented by Mythic League.

wiz will debut with Evil Geniuses this week, on January 19th as they start their BLAST Premier Spring Groups event against Heroic at 09:00AM.
