daps will be the in-game leader again

daps returns to NRG active lineup

The Canadian in-game leader will replace newest addition RIKO in the active roster.

Damian "daps" Steele has returned to the active lineup of NRG, after a brief time as coach, teammate Allan "AnJ" Jensen revealed in a TwitLonger post. Dust2.us has further learned that it is Dylan "RIKO" Sabin-Arnce who will depart the roster, as the 21 year old was not playing for the team in their ESL Pro League matches last night and will not be attending iBUYPOWER Masters this weekend.

This change comes after a disappointing performance at the Americas Minor, where the then Jacob "FugLy" Medina-led squad fell to compLexity in the Group A decider. In the TwitLonger post, AnJ expressed that he wasn't comfortable in his role on the team and that this change would help him to improve and regain confidence.

Combined with this, Dust2.us has learned that FugLy does not wish to in-game lead anymore and that daps, who was limited in his impact from the coach position, will take on the role of in-game leader once again.

It is not known whether RIKO will stay on as a backup or if he will depart the organization at this time.

With this move, NRG has the following roster:

  • United States Jacob "FugLy" Medina
  • United States Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte
  • Denmark Allan "AnJ" Jensen
  • Cvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov
  • Canada Damian "daps" Steele

NRG will next be in action in ECS Season 4 North America, ESL Pro League Season 6, and iBUYPOWER Masters this upcoming weekend in Santa Ana, California.
