broky leaves amidst career-worst form for the AWPer

Official: FaZe part ways with broky after seven years

The Latvian AWPer heads out into free agency for the first time since 2019.

FaZe have announced Helvijs "broky" Saukants' departure from the organization today, seeing the Latvian AWPer leave after seven years within their ranks. The departure of broky follows FaZe moving him to the bench for a second time on June 25th in favor of young Danish AWPer Jason "JBOEN" Boe Nielsen as part of a wider rebuild following Finn "karrigan" Andersen's exit from the team last month.

While broky's successes with FaZe have been somewhat overshadowed in the public consciousness by poor form and multiple trips to the bench in recent years, broky spent the majority of his time on FaZe as a well-regarded star AWPer.

During his tenure with karrigan, broky helped FaZe win ten S-tier LAN trophies including the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 while also making HLTV's Top 20 four years in a row from 2021 to 2024.

However, as previously mentioned, heading into 2025 broky's form declined precipitously, with him falling to a 1.04 rating over 173 maps in 2025 before nosediving to an even worse 0.98 rating over 84 maps this year. This made his removal largely unavoidable especially after FaZe missed out on the IEM Cologne 2026 Major.

broky's future in Counter-Strike 2 is currently up in the air, as career-worst form and a summer shuffle that has largely settled down leaves broky without many options. Perhaps some time on the sidelines will allow the AWPer to mentally reset and return to the form refreshed and ready for the shuffle after the PGL Singapore 2026 Major in December.
