adreN has a long history of coaching at the top level

Official: Nouns name adreN as new head coach and GM

It's been a shift inside the organization.

Nouns have officially promoted assistant Eric "adreN" Hoag to the head coaching position as Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen takes a new role within the organization. In an earlier announcement last night, the well-known bodybuilder has become the organization's Performance Coach and Content Creator.

adreN's history of coaching is restricted to just Nouns and formerly Liquid, where he spent two stints overseeing the American squad. The former player-turned-coach oversaw one of the most successful periods in Liquid's history as they won the Intel Grand Slam in the shortest-ever timespan.

Nouns first picked up adreN at the beginning of the year alongside Paytyn "junior" Johnson and Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott, where he was first a "co-coach" to SEMPHIS. Now, he has picked up the mantle of being the sole voice behind the squad.

Nouns has had some struggles in recent months where they missed out on winning domestic qualifiers for IEM Dallas, IEM Chengdu, and ESL Challenger Jönköping. Their biggest LAN event thus far was the PGL Copenhagen Major Americas RMR in Monterrey this past March, where the team disappointingly exited with an 0-2 record.

Nouns will be look forward to battling in the ESL Challenger League Season 47, where they currently sit 2nd with a 9-3 record, just behind Party Astronatus who are atop the table with 10 wins.

Nouns going forward will be:

  • United States Carson "nosraC" O'Reilly

  • United States Christopher "cJ" Jones

  • Mexico Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado

  • United States Paytyn "junior" Johnson

  • United States Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott

  • United States Eric "adreN" Hoag (Coach)

  • Canada Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen (Performance Coach/Content Creator)
