M80 set up G2 rematch after TYLOO comeback
It was scary for a moment, but then everyone realized that Asian teams are traditionally dominant on Inferno. With M80 going back to their winning ways on Ancient and Overpass, NA fans now focus their attention to tomorrow when Michael "Swisher" Schmid and his teammates get another chance at G2.
It wasn't a pretty first half as TYLOO consistently powered through M80's defenses on Inferno to take a quick 10-2 lead. While the second half was better for the North Americans, the deficit was too much to overcome as they fell to the Chinese squad 13-7.
Ancient was where M80 really turned things around and had a similar dominance to TYLOO in the opener. Michael "Swisher" Schmid was putting on an all-star performance. He led the way with 15 kills in the first half, and his squad grabbed a 9-3 lead. The second half, surprisingly, only went better as M80 blanked TYLOO and pulled off a 13-3 victory to set up a third map.
Overpass was mostly an easy map for M80, albeit for the second round, where the North Americans went down to a 1v3 against pistols. Ethan "reck" Serrano pulled out a ridiculous clutch to save the round, which helped the squad keep cool under pressure and secure a ridiculous 11-1 first-half T-side. The second half once again was somehow better than the first as M80 blanked TYLOO to win 13-2 and take the series 2-1.
M80 is now preparing for tomorrow's rematch against G2, which the North Americans barely lost yesterday morning.
