NAF is always cool as a cucumber

What to expect from Liquid v. FlyQuest

This might be a close one.

Liquid is the first team with North American players stepping up to the plate in the ESL Pro League Season 19 playoffs. The squad will be looking to hit it off against FlyQuest who are already enjoying their best performance at a Pro League event in years.

Today it is do or die for both teams, lose and go home, or win and face Astralis for a spot in the quarterfinals of this EPL season.

Liquid solidifying

They had a rocky start, they were showered with criticism and now they are bouncing back. In the last month, Liquid has only lost to three teams, M80, MOUZ and FaZe, so it has not been as bad as it was looking initially. The players are getting more comfortable and chemistry is getting there. This being said, it is expected to still see some flaws in Liquid's game and FlyQuest should be a great test to assess where Liquid are.

  • skullz has been having a slow event, a bounce back is imminent

  • cadiaN has been impacting with his fragging as well as his calling, always good to see

  • The Canadian duo is always near the top of the fragging list

  • YEKINDAR needs to go back to his 2022 form

FlyQuest flying

Rarely does one see an organization make such great moves in the CS scene as FlyQuest does. Since joining the scene, almost a year ago with a women's squad, FlyQuest now has the best Australian squad the scene has had in years and the players have been paying back the organization with loads of wins. Only four losses, against Virtus.pro, NAVI, FaZe, and HEROIC, in 15 matches is an impressive stat. Can they continue to ride the wave against Liquid, though?

  • INS has been having an incredible event

  • Vexite and Liazz have been solid

  • aliStair's AWPing looks exploitable

  • Can dexter outfrag cadiaN?

Previous Matchups

These two squads have never faced each other before.

Likely Vetoes

This will be an interesting veto because both teams have an active win streak in each other's usual pick.

  • FlyQuest ban Overpass (usual ban)

  • Liquid ban Vertigo (usual ban)

  • FlyQuest pick Ancient (usual pick, Liquid has 7 straight wins here)

  • Liquid pick Inferno (usual pick, FlyQuest has 4 straight wins here)

  • Anubis is the decider (Liquid likes it, FlyQuest has a 92% win-rate in 12 matches)
