Happy T.c, happy Complexity

What to expect from Complexity v. PERA

A win, surely.

After a first week of ESL Pro League that saw M80, the sole NA representative in Groups A and B, nearly qualify for playoffs, the region will feature three teams playing in the second week of group play, with Liquid, BOSS, and Complexity taking the stage.

Complexity comes into the event as the best American team and with high expectations of advancing to the playoffs. Jason Lake's boys will kick things off against PERA, the second-lowest-rated team in the event.

Back to the servers

It's been a while since Complexity played an official when they were eliminated from the PGL Copenhagen Major and elected to forgo IEM Chengdu. Since then, the team has been working out of the spotlight, putting in those hours and preparing for ESL Pro League Season 19 and the final stretch of events before the player's break in June. Without officials, it's hard to know where the team stands, but, without a doubt, they will be refreshed.

  • Will Complexity still utilize Overpass despite it's upcoming removal

  • "Make or break for hallzerk, can he handle the pressure?

  • floppy needs to have a good event, PERA should be a good opponent to get momentum

  • How much better did EliGE get?

9.1% win-rate PERA

Who is PERA? That's a good question. This team was created just five months ago and boasts a 9.1% win rate over the last three months. The team qualified for EPL S19 after winning the Hungarian and European Conference qualifiers in January. Since then, PERA has only won one series, having had eight losses in a row from February through April.

  • Two recent changes could revitalize the team.

  • Relatively unknown players can cause some surprises

  • No pressure with no community expectations

Previous Matchups

These two teams have never faced each other before.

Likely Vetoes

Keep in mind that ESL Pro League S19 is still being played with the old map pool, meaning Overpass is still on the cards. Complexity should allow PERA to start the pick/ban process, as the North Americans have the higher seed and decide who goes first.

  • PERA ban Inferno (usual ban)

  • Complexity ban Mirage (usual ban, could be floated as PERA have a 4 map losing streak)

  • PERA pick Ancient (usual first pick, maybe they pick Anubis due to better WR)

  • Complexity pick Overpass (could be Vertigo, 5 map winning streak and PERA 3 losses)

  • Anubis will be the decider (if not Anubis, then Ancient)

Complexity faces off against PERA tomorrow at 10:30AM.
