FURIA have a mountain to climb.

FURIA has never reversed 0-2 start at the Major

It's not going to be an easy route for the Brazilians.

FURIA has started the PGL Copenhagen Major in the worst possible way. Two defeats on Day 1 saw them thrust into the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. The first loss was against Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's former teammate Marcelo "Coldzera" David where the latter's Legacy team was able to secure an overtime win to upset the best Brazilian squad.

Then FURIA saw themselves on the back foot the entire time against Chinese squad Lynn Vision. FURIA looked like they had one shot to come back in the match on their T-side, however the Brazilians would lose a 5v2 to pistols, sending them crashing down into the 0-2 pool.

Now, FURIA need to fix whatever problems they currently have as they face the most emotionally tough battle against KOI later this afternoon. If history is anything to go by, FURIA will not be making it out and will likely be eliminated sooner rather than later.

The Brazilians have started 0-2 twice in Majors; 2019 IEM Katowice Major and the 2023 BLAST.tv Paris Major. In both Majors the squad were eliminated and have only one win to show for it. in Paris, the squad had reached the Legends Stage and were out of the event after just two days.

FURIA's Major Record:

  • 2019 IEM Katowice Major: Challengers Stage - 0-2, finished 1-3

  • 2019 StarLadder Berlin Major: Challengers Stage - 1-1, finished 1-3

  • 2021 PGL Major Stockholm: Legends Stage - 1-1, finished 3-1

  • 2022 PGL Major Antwerp: Legends Stage - 1-1, finished 3-2

  • 2022 IEM Rio Major: Challengers Stage - 1-1, finished 3-1

  • 2023 BLAST.tv Paris Major: Legends Stage - 0-2, finished 0-3

Should FURIA remain in the hunt for the Major, they will need to win the next three BO3 matches as they stare down potential elimination. FURIA are scheduled to play KOI later this afternoon.
