IMPERIAL ONE WIN AWAY FROM ELIMINATION STAGE
Imperial are inching closer and closer to the next stage of the Major after an absolutely dominant showing at the Copenhagen Major so far as they are now one win away from making it to the Elimination Stage. At 2-1, they have surpassed most expectations at the Major and can hold their heads high.
Overpass was a curious decision for Apeks, who had to decide between this and Inferno. The Brazilians are incredibly strong on the map and proved that with their standout performance on the CT-side to open up the contest. Imperial would lose the opening pistol, but that was about it from the squad as they would go on to win nine rounds on the defense while only letting up one more.
With a 9-3 lead heading into the T-side, Imperial were primed to close out the match and make that crucial 2-1 match. Four in a row for Apeks made things closer, but the Brazilian squad showed some life and got closer to the finish line with a good execution on A, followed by a round against only pistols. Another great execution, this time on B site put Imperial on match point, which was converted, once again, against a smaller buy. With this win, Imperial are just one series away from advancing to the next stage.
