From choking to winning, VINI felt it all

VINI: "I think I had all the emotions I could have during this game"

It was not an easy game for the Brazilians.

Imperial is somehow in the 1-0 pool after a miraculous triple overtime win against ENCE to start off their Major run. The victory was improbable, as Imperial had to come back from a 4-8 first half and even lost the first three T-side rounds of Overtime. Despite the odds stacked against them, the Brazilians were able to grind back to secure their opening win.

After the match, Imperial's IGL Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo spoke with Dust2.us about the arduous victory, adjustments that needed to be made in the middle of the match, and how he kept the team spirit high despite the conditions.

Exhausting game, triple overtime, how are your emotions right now? How are you physically feeling?

Man, I think I had all the emotions I could have during this game. In the start, we choked a little bit, a lot of nerves and then as the match started going I was just chilling a little bit. Every clutch was super important, I think we did a great job, every single one of us was really hyped, we never let down, even when they were 2-1 in overtime. I'm just proud of everyone.

Were there any corrections that you made from the first half to the second half?

Probably, yes, I just don't know what we did actually, because we changed everything. We started playing mid, we started playing just the sites and we didn't have any more timeouts, so every time ENCE was pausing, zakk was giving a new idea and that new idea would win us the round.

Let's talk about the back-and-forth overtimes. You kind of lost it towards the end of regulation and the first overtime T-side. Did you feel like it was probably over at that point?

Not that much, because after the comeback everyone was very confident and we lost because we weren't doing what we said we were going to do. A lot of executes we were missing some smokes, so someone was supposed to be holding a B push and no one was there. We overcomplicated because of the emotions of the game and when we went to overtime, I was like "let's chill, the game is 0-0 now and let's do our thing."
