FURIA SHOCKED IN OPENING ROUND
FURIA has been doubted, but this match was meant to stop those from doubting too much. The best Brazilian squad in the world was hoping to go up 1-0 against their fellow countrymen of Legacy to finish the first round of the Major, but Marcelo "coldzera" David had other plans.
The last match of the first round was yet another upset, as FURIA is the only Portuguese-speaking team that couldn't win their opening match
The match started on Ancient where FURIA got things off to a hot start with a Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato pistol clutch win, but soon found themselves in trouble when Legacy came right back the next round to win the force. Momentum was the wind behind Marcelo "Coldzera" David's squad, but FURIA cut that out just as quickly as it started. Despite a 3-1 lead for Legacy on their T-side, FURIA came roaring right back to win the first half 7-5.
The second half was a lot tougher for FURIA as they found that Legacy wouldn't go down so easily. Gabriel "NEKIZ" Schenato's squad put up a strong CT-side as they dominated the second half thanks to some clutch kills, and FURIA flailing when they were up against pistols. Legacy would continue to put FURIA on the back foot as they got very close to shocking everyone and put FURIA down in the 0-1 bracket. Regardless, Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and co. sent the game to overtime. Hoping to awaken their force, FURIA were only able to win a single round during the extra time, as Legacy got revenge after the sixth, with a 16-13 upset win.
