The Spodek will feature the latest patch

IEM Katowice playoffs set to be played on new patch

The new patch has been well received by the pros.

ESL have announced that the IEM Katowice 2024 playoffs are set to run on the new CS2 "A Call to Arms" patch. The decision to change game version in the middle of a tournament is unusual, however ESL noted that after gathering feedback from players and running internal tests that the decision has been made likely due to the myriad number of positive changes found in this patch.

In particular, players have responded positively to the changes to peeker's advantage, sub-tick shooting, and smokes. These changes address many complaints fans and players alike have had following the release of CS2 in September.

Additionally, some quality-of-life changes, like being able to refund all purchases at the start of the round and disabling first-person tracers, are likely appreciated by pros looking to optimize their play further. The IEM Katowice 2024 playoffs are set to start on February 9th.
