Complexity have one last chance in Copenhagen
Complexity are one match away from either making it to the playoffs or being eliminated from contention. It's a big ask for the squad who looked poised to capitalize off of their 2-0 start to the first day of the Elimination Stage.
Now, the squad has its backs truly against the wall and must fight like hell if they want to qualify.
The match started on Vitality's pick of Inferno, where Complexity got things off to a hot start by claiming the first six rounds. It was an incredible statement from the Americans who then fell off a bit as the half still went their way 7-5. Their T-side was much harder to get rounds as Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski struggled to get things going.
The match eventually headed into overtime as Complexity gave up three match points. In the two overtimes, the advantages went back and forth, but eventually, the French organization was able to come away victorious 19-16.
Now on Vertigo, the Americans were hoping to bounce back and started off just as hot as they did on Inferno. However, due to an unfortunate eco round, the squad suffered another few round losses and only came out with a 7-5 lead after their T-side. Somehow, Complexity held strong on their CT-side and produced a dominant defensive display to secure their map pick 13-7.
Anubis is always a difficult map and Complexity started making waves when they once again came out swinging to take a strong 4-0 lead on their CT-side. While Vitality crept back, they still came away with a 7-5 CT-side first half, which is more than enough to give them the advantage. The second half was tough to watch, as Complexity were only able to win one round early on. With a Vitality 11-8 lead, the teams traded rounds with the NA squad finding themselves 12-10 behind, but in a clutch situation, Vitality came out on top to claim the win with a 13-10 victory.
