Renegades head to the next StarSeries i-League event

Renegades replace mousesports at StarSeries i-League Season 7

With uncertainty over their current roster, the European team have withdrawn.

In the latest change to the tournament line-up, mousesports have withdrawn from the upcoming StarSeries i-League Season 7 Finals in Shanghai, China. Their replacement will be Australian team Renegades.

mousesports were one of the first six teams invited to the event, however after failing to secure qualification to the IEM Katowice Major with a 5-6th place finish at the Europe Minor the team currently have a severely depleted roster. Having benched captain Chris "chrisJ" de Jong alongside Martin "STYKO" Styk and coach Sergey "lmbt" Bezhanov, the team is down to three therefore they have stood down from the tournament.

Their replacement, Renegades, are currently riding a high at the Major in Katowice, having reached the New Champions stage, where they'll face MIBR in the quarterfinal, after a 3-1 New Legends stage finish. Their new roster, featuring Jay "Liazz" Tregillgas and Sean "Gratisfaction" Kaiwai, made their debut at the StarSeries i-League Season 6 tournament where they finished in 5-8th place.

Renegades will be joining fellow North American-based teams NRG and Rogue at the event in China. Rogue secured qualification back in December, beating Envy 2-0 for a place at the event. Liquid had initially been invited to the event, however withdrew in January due to the competitive schedule that now includes two BLAST Pro Series stops.

This leaves the tournament line-up as follows:

BIG  CyberZen
 ENCE FaZe
Sweden fnatic World HellRaisers
Brazil MIBR Natus Vincere
Sweden NiP Denmark North
United States NRG Brazil paiN
Australia Renegades United States Rogue
Spirit TYLOO

The StarSeries i-League Season 7 begins next month, taking place between March 30th and April 7th, with $500,000 on offer.
