Rise Nation continue their trend upward with Will "dazzle" Loafman as their MVP in their series last night against SoaR Gaming

CEVO Main playoffs Round 3 complete

Rise, Gale Force, FRENCH CANADIANS, and Good People got wins, while SoaR and LFAO were cast down to the lower bracket.

All four of the matches today between the upper and lower brackets ended in swift 2-0 style.

Rise Nation vs SoaR Gaming (2-0)

The first match of the upper bracket began on Mirage, SoaR's pick. From the get go, Rise held their ground on their CT-side, unwavering. Aside from scarce single round wins, SoaR was unable to ever steal momentum from the Counter Terrorists, despite disrupting their economy every two or three rounds. The half ended 11-4 with SoaR trailing. Unable to string the necessary rounds together, and with such a heavy deficit for SoaR, Rise eventually took the remaining five rounds they required to close out the map 16-11.

Going into Inferno, SoaR turned Rise's early lead around with an anti-eco that resulted in a bomb defuse and netted them enough money to get an early buy in. This ended up translating into 7-2 lead for them before Rise fought back, claiming four additional rounds, and went into the half trailing only three rounds. The deciding factor in this map was Rise's superior defense as they switched sides. All SoaR could muster was a hiccup of four rounds in a broken string on their T-side before Rise closed out the map 16-13 and claimed the series victory as well.

Gale Force vs LFAO (2-0)

The second upper bracket match of the playoffs kicked off on Cobblestone where Gale Force took an early lead on their T-side. After dropping the first gun round to LFAO, who were fielding Bryce "PureR" Lovell in place of recently departed member Felipe "pavel" Costa, the Argentinians quickly bounced back with another three in response. The rest of the first half was a fairly even trade of rounds and ended 10-5 in favor of Gale Force. After a close second pistol round that ended in a bomb defuse, the Argentinians took another early lead that led to their ultimate  victory, 16-9.

LFAO took an early three round lead on their T-side as the two met on Overpass. Once their economy had settled and stabilized, Gale Force took complete control on their defense. They took the all but one of the remaining 12 rounds of the half as they headed into their T-side with an 11-4 scoreline. Once the teams had swapped sides LFAO's fate was all but sealed by Gale Force winning the pistol and subsequent two rounds. Staring down the barrel of a 10 round deficit and confidence in Gale Forces corner, LFAO eventually fell 16-5 and were sent to the losers bracket.

FRENCH CANADIANS vs Samurai (2-0)

You wouldn't have thought the Canadian squad would have ran away with Cache from the looks of how it began. Samurai took a commanding 5-0 lead on their T-side — but that was the end of their good fortune. They were only able to gain one additional round before the end of the half, and FRENCH CANADIANS ended their Counter Terrorist side 9-6. With no apparent defense in sight, the men of the North bulldozed through Samurai taking the only seven rounds of the second half, and closed out the map 16-6.

Inferno was almost a mirror image of Cache, as Samurai took another early 4-0 lead before they fell apart at the seams. FRENCH CANADIANS won 10 of the remaining 11 rounds of the first half, switching to the Terrorist side leading 10-5.  The Frenchies had no intention of letting up as they won all six consecutive rounds to close out the map and series 16-5.

Good People vs Hyper (2-0)

The final match-up for round 3 of the lower bracket started off on Cache, a popular pick by Good People. An early three round lead for Roy "StrongLegs" Ahad and crew was short-lived as Hyper stole their momentum with the first gun round going in their favor. Only able to secure two additional rounds before the half ended, Hyper headed into their T-side up 10-5. A force buy after losing the pistol round resulted in a ten round streak for Good People, granting them four chances to secure the match. The North American mix, with the aid of Ghost Academy's Chad "oderus" Miller, took Cache 16-12.

On Nuke, despite Good People never being able to string more than three rounds together at a time, or build up an economy, Hyper's four rounds were hardly enough to play with going into their CT-side at an 11-4 scoreline. Even at such an extreme deficit, Hyper fought back valiantly with solid defensive strategy that netted them the first seven rounds of the second half. The weakness in Hyper's CT-defense finally realized, Good People went on a five round streak to close out the map 16-11 and the series 2-0, advancing them to round 4 of the lower bracket.
