AAustiN and desi leave Recon 5; team begins rebuild with jeorgesnorts

The team will be looking for a new IGL as they look to improve from an underwhelming season.

Austin "AAustiN" Urb and Derek "desi" Branchen have stepped down from Recon 5 after two months with the team. In their place, Recon 5 have added Jeorge "jeorgesnorts" Endicott and are currently on the lookout for a new IGL.

Reece "Wilky" Wilkerson told Dust2.us that AAustiN stepped down from the team due to becoming more busy with school in the near future. Notably, AAustiN plays for Ashland University's collegiate CS:GO team, having done so while playing for a number of Premier lineups over the last year.

As for desi, he told Dust2.us that he left the squad due to the team's lack of results against the top tier of Premier opposition and overall lack of experience. Despite this, he noted that his former teammates are "all great guys" and "just need more time" to develop as players.

jeorgesnorts joins Recon 5 after two months without a team since leaving GGPR in mid-April. He recently played for Recon 5 as a stand-in in Knights: Revival and Mythic Summer Series 2021 Cup 2. In Knights: Revival, Recon 5 picked up a third place finish with a notable win over RBG while in the Mythic Cup Recon 5 finished third-fourth with a win over Third Impact before falling to Party Astronauts.

With these changes, Recon 5 are now:

  • United States Dylan "SATURN" Finch
  • United States Reece "Wilky" Wilkerson
  • United States Keller "SLIGHT" Nilan
  • United States Jeorge "jeorgesnorts" Endicott

Recon 5 will need to find a new fifth before the start of ESEA Premier Season 38 on August 17th.

Dust2 Birthday cake!
I truly have a huge brain. Why try and constantly deal with roster turnover when I can just wait until the season starts to update the fantasy league spreadsheet

That's sad to hear, felt like Recon5 with a little more time could been at the top of Premier. I wonder who the new IGL they could look at getting.
