Official: m1cks joins NRG

They're growing.

Just a day after Dust2.us reported that NRG had signed a new analyst, the organization has officially revealed Joshua "m1cks" Micks as the newest addition to the team. NRG has finally come back to Counter-Strike after a four-year hiatus and created an American-Canadian roster that is already considered one of the region's best.

At the time of the roster announcement NRG had not yet revealed who would help lead their backroom staff. Damian "daps" Steele, who had previously been the coach of Liquid, was now coming in as a player. With experience in both roles, he might have a different approach with this new roster. To have some sort of help, the team is bringing in m1cks as an analyst.

m1cks has an impressive resume both in NA and abroad starting with his time as a trial analyst on teams like Rogue and eUnited, before moving on to Cloud9 and Nordavind where he eventually became an assistant coach and head coach.

On becoming the new analyst, m1cks said he was "excited for the opportunity" and ready to "prove ourselves." NRG, who lost last weekend in the ESEA Cash Cup Autumn 2023 6, are still figuring things out as a new squad. The 2024 PGL Copenhagen Major Americas RMR North American Open Qualifiers will be their first major competition.

NRG will be:

  • United States Josh "oSee" Ohm

  • Canada Damian "daps" Steele

  • United States Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte

  • Canada Jadan "HexT" Postma

  • Canada Justin "FaNg" Coakley

  • United States Joshua "m1cks" Micks (Analyst)
