ESL Challenger Hannover replacement announced

ESL have announced the replacement site for ESL Challenger Hannover in Katowice, Poland. The $100,000 event will be hosted at ESL's studios in Katowice, rather than the traditional tournament site of the Spodek Arena.

The new event, titled ESL Challenger Katowice 2023 will feature eight teams battling it out on June 9-11th with a spot at ESL Pro League Season 18 up for grabs. The prize pool and tournament spot allocation are the exact same from the now canceled ESL Challenger Hannover.

Already, ESL have announced the four teams that will attend the event which takes place at the same time as the BLAST Premier Spring Finals in Washington, DC; ENCE, paiN, FORZE, and Virtus.pro.

ENCE, FORZE, and paiN earned the spot thanks to their World Ranking while Virtus.pro was awarded the spot for being the highest ranked team in Europe, according to ESL.
