Party Astronauts suffer Mythical Defeat
Last night Mythic, the stream team led by Erik "fl0m" Flom, took down Party Astronauts who had recently been flying high after playing in ESL Pro League and the PGL Major RMRs. Despite a 0-5 performance in Pro League and a "close but no cigar" run at the RMR, Party Astronauts have looked like one of the strongest NA Premier teams. However, they were brought back down to Earth by Mythic.
At first, it looked as if PA would apply what they learned in Europe and dominate the series as they won the first map 16-5, but that expectation quickly faded as Mythic came back with a vengeance and completely shut down their opponent. The upset win was made possible by a magical performance from Nicholas 'hate' Young, who was the only player on his team to go positive with 65 kills and a 1.31 rating.
Party AstronautsMythicAs easy as it would be to panic and claim that the writing is on the wall for this PA roster, this is likely no more than a fluke. However, it should draw some eyes onto this Mythic line-up. They may be a stream team but they are a hell of a lot of fun to watch. According to fl0m the side had not put too many hours into the game before this match, so it will definitely be fun to watch this roster as they get more time to practice together to become a coherent unit. Mythic play their next series in ESL Challenger League tonight against Axolotls.
