Renegades face elimination on the third day of the StarSeries i-League Season 4 Finals

StarSeries i-League Season 4 Finals round 3 draw

Renegades face elimination on day 3 as Cloud9 take on SK in a Major semifinals rematch.

The third round of Swiss matchups for the StarSeries i-League Season 4 Finals have been drawn, giving us the first matches that will see teams fight to advance to the winners bracket, while other squads face elimination. This round of draws pools together teams with 2-0, 1-1, and 0-2 records to face off among themselves.

The first North American matchup of the day saw Liquid defeat Renegades in a three map series, with Keith "NAF" Markovic ending Mirage with a beastly 121.7 ADR. The Major champions saw a rematch of the Boston final towards the end of the day as they took on FaZe, with the Europeans crushing Cloud9 in a swift two maps.

The full list of results for day 2 can be found below:

Sweden Fnatic 0-2    Tyloo
HellRaisers 0-2   Denmark Heroic
Australia Renegades 1-2   Liquid
Virtus.pro 2-1   MVP PK
 Natus Vincere   2-1   Gambit
Brazil SK 1-2   mousesports
FaZe 2-0   United States Cloud9
G2 2-1   Denmark Astralis

Liquid are set to take on the freshly leased 2018 Virtus plow in the opening match of the third day as each team fights for playoff contention. With a strong showing against Renegades, Liquid look set to take the series as the Polish side have yet to stabilize with their new addition of Michał "MICHU" Müller, barely scraping past MVP PK on day 2.

With SK and Cloud9 both losing their second round matchups, the teams saw themselves into the 1-1 pool, where they were promptly drawn against each other in a rematch of the Boston Major semifinals. This time around SK will be able to field their complete lineup with Ricardo "boltz" Prass, and attempt to claim revenge against Cloud9 — despite showing signs of weakness at the tournament thus far.

Renegades face elimination as their own day 3 bout pits them up against fnatic. As the roster still adjusts to the addition of Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad, Renegades are likely to lose at the hands of the Swedes, who've looked promising despite their recent losses.
