Strife top low-turnout IESF Canada qualifier

J0LZ and co. will represent Canada in Rio de Janeiro after breezing through the qualifier.

Strife have topped the IESF 2024 Canadian qualifier after breezing through the other two teams in attendance. With their win, David "J0LZ" Jolin and co. have claimed Canada's spot for the upcoming IESF 2024 Panamerican Esports Games in Rio de Janiero; where the team will represent Canada with an aim of earning a spot for the country in Riyadh for the $240,000 main event.

The French Canadian squad's run through the bracket saw them face off against two mixteams that were relatively unknown quantities, with both squads featuring a number of players below FACEIT Level 10. With Strife being far and away the best team in attendance, they were given a bye directly into the upper bracket final, where they dispatched the coyly named iBuyPoutine 13-5 on Inferno to claim a spot in the finals.

They were met in the finals by Team VALORANT who had previously beat iBuyPoutine 13-8 on Ancient. The finals started with Strife dominating Dust2 13-4 with Gabriel "tenskee" Rodrigue leading the way on the server. Moving into Nuke, it was more of the same as Strife put on a convincing 13-7 display on Nuke to win the series and top the qualifier.

Strife will now prepare for the IESF 2024 Panamerican Esports Games, which are set to run from August 24th to September 1st, with four teams earning a spot in the Saudi event.
