Space Soldiers eliminate Chiefs from MDL Global Challenge
Space Soldiers and Chiefs clashed in the decider match of Group A, where the teams faced off on Cobblestone.
The Turkish team got off to a roaring start as they garnered seven quick rounds. The Aussies finally held off the Space Soldiers offense, but found themselves immediately reset in the round that ensued. This gave Space Soldiers the chance to snag two more rounds before Chiefs stabilized their economy, at which point the Aussies secured an additional two rounds of their own.
Once again they found themselves unable to hold off the aggression from Buğra "Calyx" Arkın and Engin "MAJ3R" Küpeli as the Turkish side pushed their way to eleven rounds, with Chiefs taking the final round to leave themselves a small chance in the second half.
The second pistol round also went the way of Space Soldiers, leaving the Aussies with little hope to make a comeback in the match. An early plant offered Chiefs the chance to buy guns early, and they used the situation to their advantage to pull weapons out and keep themselves in the match. Although the Aussies secured five rounds to make the scoreline a little more competitive, they were unable to continue their attack once Space Soldiers stabilized.
The Turkish squad closed out the match quickly once they had weapons again, moving into the playoffs with little contest. Despite Chiefs finding opening frags in rounds, every one of the three clutch situations went Space Soldiers way, and the Chiefs weren't able to establish enough of a lead in the first half to keep themselves in the match.

Space Soldiers have eliminated the Aussies from MDL's Global Challenge, and will now look to face eXtatus in the first semifinal match later this evening. Before that match takes place we'll also see SoaR face Ghost Academy in the Group B decider, where the victor will go on to face AGO in the second semifinal.
