Complexity set to face HEROIC for EPL playoffs spot
After their win over Pera earlier today, Complexity has a confirmed opponent for their next match in ESL Pro League Season 19. The Americans are set to take on HEROIC for a spot in the playoffs. The Group C upper bracket semi-final will be an important match for COL to win, as a victory over the European squad will grant Complexity a direct path into the playoffs as the first team from the Americas to reach that stage of the Maltese event.
Additionally, the showdown with HEROIC will be a rematch of Complexity's 19-17 stunning victory over Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski's squad at the PGL Copenhagen Major. The win in Copenhagen set Complexity up in a key position to lock in a playoffs berth a the Major, however the opportunity would slip through the team's fingers after 3 heartbreaking losses to European titans MOUZ, Vitality, and FaZe.
HEROIC claimed their spot in the upper bracket semi-final via a scrappy win over the ever-shambolic NIP, with the squad playing with academy stand-in Kacper "xKacpersky" Gabara in place of Fredrik "REZ" Sterner. While HEROIC have the higher HLTV ranking over Complexity at the moment, they will be itching to take them down and lock in playoffs for their first time.
