Eternal Fire brushed aside by NAVI
Eternal Fire has been ejected from the PGL Copenhagen Major this evening as Natus Vincere showed their resolve and was able to send the Turkish side home after just two maps. It was a close escape for the European side as they survived a nearly epic collapse on their own map pick while stealing away Eternal Fire's own.
The match began on Eternal Fire's pick of Mirage, where Natus Vincere came out swinging on the T-side and secured a dominant 9-3 lead. With the Turkish side on the backfoot, they surprisingly came out just as strong and started climbing back. Eternal Fire not only tied up the map but also took a crucial 12-10 lead.
Natus Vincere, having blown their lead in the first half, somehow grabbed the last two rounds to force an overtime where they were able to put away the first map 16-14 in their favor.
Inferno was supposed to be Eternal Fire's revenge map, but things did not go their way. The Turkish side began on the T-side, but a back-and-forth first half saw them split the score evenly with NAVI. Things went from bad to worse for İsmailсan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş and his crew as they would lose the CT-side pistol and NAVI would inch closer to victory.
Despite some strong rounds while on the CT-side, Eternal Fire could do nothing as that powerful T-side from NAVI powered the European squad to a semi-final berth thanks to a 13-9 map win, and a 2-0 series victory. NAVi find out if they are playing either G2 or MOUZ later this evening.
